This position has an end date of 12 months from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension.

Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus, Edmonton.

Position Summary

The Reimagining Asian Well-being (RAW) research program is dedicated to advancing health equity through community-centered and culturally responsive research. Our work prioritizes collaborative partnerships to address systemic health disparities and foster well-being among Asian and racialized communities. We are seeking a dedicated Research Coordinator to join our funded project focused on co-developing future directions for Asian youth pain care and mental health. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the overall coordination and progress of the research program.

Duties 

The Research Coordinator will work closely with the Principal Investigator and the research team to:

  • Assist with ethics submissions and amendments
  • Oversee components of research projects to ensure ongoing progress
  • Monitor and forecast budgets, including monitoring and reconciling monthly expenditures
  • Coordinate ongoing project communications with trainees, stakeholders, and team members
  • Coordinate and provide administration for weekly research program meetings  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a health-related field (e.g., nursing, public health, or sociology)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within a research setting and coordinating research activities 
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a research team
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong foundational knowledge of health equity, anti-racism, and social justice principles

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Previous experience as a research assistant is an asset
  • Experience using Covidence is considered an asset
  • Previous experience drafting and submitting manuscripts is preferred
