The Augustana Faculty of the University of Alberta enrolls approximately 1000 undergraduate students in baccalaureate degree programs on a picturesque residential campus in the city of Camrose, 90 kilometers Southeast of Edmonton. Position 

This position has an end date of 6/30/2025, with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Manager Student Life (MSL), this position will play a critical role in supporting the mission for student success at the Augustana Campus of the University of Alberta (U of A). 

As an integral part of Augustana’s Student Life team, this role gives you the opportunity to build a positive campus culture that focuses on initiatives to build wellness and prevent harm as well as to respond when students need support.

The Sexual Violence Response and Wellness staff member leads prevention and response programming to support student wellness. The role involves direct service provision, the building of strong connections with university and community partners and opportunities to support students.

Duties 

  • Coordinate consent, healthy relationships, and sexual violence programming for students (plan, implement and evaluate)
  • Coordinate the Options Navigation Network at Augustana (trained group of staff members available to support students with information and supported referrals)
  • Lead the campus' wellness programming
  • Be a visible presence and available to students (scheduled and drop in conversations)
  • Hire, train and support student Wellness Ambassadors
  • Participate in Augustana's Early Alert System that supports students' academic and non-academic needs
  • Participate in a standby/on-call rotation to support on campus student staff

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field
  • Good knowledge of issues facing students, particularly in regards to gender based and sexual violence and wellness
  • Current Standard First Aid
  • Commitment to inclusive practices
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience working in a similar position in a postsecondary environment
  • Training in crisis intervention
