Assistant Professor in the Dept. Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences. Interested in inherited retinal degeneration, age-related macular degeneration, and myopia.
I use genetically-modified Xenopus laevis (CRISPR/Cas9) and confocal and super-resolution fluorescence microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and electroretinography (ERG) to investigate the relationship between photoreceptor outer segment morphogenesis and the pathogenesis of retinal degenerative diseases such as cone-rod dystrophies and macular degeneration.
