The discipline of Media Studies, how it has developed, its historical objects and contemporary tools of study, and how it contributes to our understanding of culture.
MST 210 - Contemporary Media Culture
Key topical and changing trends and issues in contemporary media culture. Prerequisite: MST 100.
MST 299 - Special Topics in Media Studies
Prerequisite: MST100 or consent of the Program Administrator. May be repeated for credit when course content differs.
SOC 269 - Sociological Perspectives on Global Crises
Introduces theories and topics from world-ecology and global political economy. Considers how key global crises (social, economic, political, and ecological) are intertwined. Prerequisite: SOC 100 or consent of instructor.
SOC 343 - Social Movements
How social movements arise and their impact on culture, society and politics. Prerequisite: SOC 100 or consent of instructor.
