Overview

Area of Study / Keywords

Construction Engineering and Management; Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence; Digital Twins and Virtual Reality; Lean Construction; Construction Safety and Automation

About

I am a PhD candidate and research assistant in civil engineering at the University of Alberta. My work applies computer vision, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital twins, and immersive technologies to construction safety, productivity, and decision-making. I am also interested in lean construction and the responsible use of AI in engineering education. My research has appeared in Automation in Construction and international construction engineering conferences, and I contribute as a peer reviewer.

Research

My research focuses on practical, data-driven methods for improving construction safety, productivity, and decision-making. Current themes include computer vision and object detection for construction sites; AI-assisted workspace management; digital twins and virtual reality for hazard recognition and training; visual taxonomies and datasets for construction; lean construction planning; and responsible applications of large language models and computer vision in engineering education. I aim to develop methods and tools that are technically rigorous, usable in real project environments, and transferable to industry practice.

Teaching

My teaching interests include construction management, project planning and control, digital construction, construction safety, computer vision, and the responsible use of AI in engineering education. I value applied, evidence-based learning that connects technical concepts with realistic project scenarios, clear evaluation criteria, and hands-on problem solving.

Announcements

I welcome academic and industry collaborations in computer vision, AI, digital twins, lean construction, construction safety, and engineering education.
