About

I am an Assistant Professor of mathematics, science and technology education at the Faculté Saint-Jean of the University of Alberta. I hold a concurrent Bachelor in education and science (BSc - BEd) with concentrations in mathematics and computer sciences, and a Masters of Arts (MA) in education both at the Université de Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. I am currently a PhD candidate writing my doctoral dissertation at McGill University.

Research

My research interests include various topics in elementary and secondary mathematics and science education, such as

·      using inquiry-based learning (IBL) in classrooms: types of tasks and problems, epistemology of IBL in mathematics courses, ways of implementing IBL in mathematics courses, using IBL in various contexts;

·      using effective teaching practices to enhance student learning;

·      school inclusion: development of mathematical creativity and talent, support learning of students with different cultures;

·      using information and communication technologies in classrooms: virtual learning communities of problem solvers.

I am open to explore other fields in mathematics, science, and technology education.
