About
Thinh obtained his BSc and MSc degrees from the University of Reims Champagne Ardenne (FR) before pursuing a joint Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Florida (US) and AgroParisTech (FR). After graduating in 2021, he held multiple postdoctoral research fellowships at Aalto University (FI) and the University of Alberta (CA). In 2025, he became a sessional instructor in Chemistry at Campus Saint-Jean, University of Alberta, where he has continued to nurture his passion for teaching.
Some of my achievement:
2023 - Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship Seal of Excellence
2021 - Graduated with two Ph.D.s in Chemistry and Bioprocess Engineering
2016 - Master of Sciences in Chemistry
2014 - Bachelor of Sciences in Chemistry
Courses
AUCHE 250 - Organic Chemistry I
An introduction to bonding and functionality in organic compounds. Mechanistic approach to solving problems will be emphasized. Topics include electron movement arrows, acid/base chemistry, conformations and stereochemistry, simple substitutions, eliminations and additions to alkenes. Infrared spectroscopy will be applied in the lab. Prerequisite: AUCHE 112. Suggested corequisite: AUCHE 230 for students planning to take AUCHE 252.
