This course represents the first stage in preparing students for academic study in English. EAP 101 develops the academic literacy and oral fluency necessary for a strong foundation in academic English skills. The course is delivered in two parts: one focused on reading and writing, and the other focused on speaking and listening. By the end of the course, students will be able to read and speak about a limited range of academic topics, demonstrate elementary proficiency in academic vocabulary, and write about everyday academic life at the sentence level with some clarity.
