The purpose of this course is to critically analyze policy, politics, and sources of influence within the policy context. The policy process, including context, strategies, as well as the impact of policies on the health and social well-being of Canadians are examined. Emphasis is given to the advanced practice roles and nursing leadership both in public/social policy related to the broad social determinants of health, and health-oriented public policy.
