The focus of this course is on relationships among health, development, and human resources for health. Emphasis will be placed on fostering an appreciation of the meaning of global, epidemiological, demographic, historical, socio-cultural, environmental, economic, and political contexts in relation to the health of populations, the development of nursing and health services, and the potential for achieving the Millennium Development Goals related to health. Credit will not be granted to students who have previously received credit for NURS 560 - International and Intercultural Perspectives in Health and Nursing.
