The factors controlling global distribution of plants and animals will be covered from ecological and historical perspectives. Techniques for the analysis of biogeographic patterns, including paleoecology, remote sensing, and phylogenetics. Ecosystem responses to global change, including species migration, disturbance ecology, and invasions. May require field trips. Prerequisite: EAS 100, BIOL 108 or SCI 100.
