Addresses the natures of science and of technology, and their interactions with one another and with social issues. The role of science and technology in modern Western society as examined, and issues of environmental responsibility, bioethics, alternative cultural beliefs about science and society, and the implications of science, technology, society and environment (STSE) for classroom science teaching are explored.
