An examination of the role the law plays in protecting rights in Canadian society, including the rights of individuals and marginalized groups. Topics may include due process, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, human rights legislation, and protections in criminal law and family law. While there are no prerequisites, taking LAW 201 prior to LAW 202 is strongly recommended. Not available to students in the J.D. program.
