This workshop bridges academic coursework and public health practice. Emphasis is on development and practice of knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to participate in and lead effective teams dedicated to improving public health. Students will work in interdisciplinary groups to develop critical thinking, respect for diversity, self awareness, intercultural competence, collaboration, deliberation, networking, engaging stakeholders, choosing appropriate strategies for generating and synthesizing evidence, applying ethical principles, and effective oral and written communication, by addressing current public health challenges. Co-requisites: SPH 530, 535, 536 or consent of instructor.
