This course will include the morphology, structure, and function of red cells, white cells, and platelets, malignant and benign conditions that affect each cell type, and tests to distinguish among disease states including anemia, leukemia, and coagulation disorders. This course is designed for students who are excused from the laboratory component of the normal MLSCI course. Prerequisite: CSMLS general certification or consent of the department. Credit granted for only one of MLSCI 230 or 231.
