HLTH 501 - Using AI Responsibly: Governing AI in Health

AI researchers, industry, governments and society have major concerns about the increasing deployment of AI in health without ensuring these systems are aligned to patient needs. Aligning AI to the needs of real people will focus on the ethical, safe, and co-constructed deployment of AI in health and clinical settings. Students will engage in online discussion about philosophical and implementation points of view through exploring the ethical, legal, and technical dimensions of AI and data governance in healthcare. Students will examine privacy, security, and regulatory frameworks at individual, community, and societal levels. Prerequisite: HLTH 500.
