Magnetostatics; Biot-Savart Law; Ampere's law; vector potential; magnetic media; Faraday's law; self and mutual inductance; Maxwell's equations in free space and matter, gauges; Poynting vector, Maxwell's stress tensor; reflection and refraction of electromagnetic waves; transmission lines and wave guides. Prerequisites: PHYS 381, MATH 337 or equivalent, and MATH 311.
