Interdisciplinary applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in forestry, environmental sciences, engineering, urban planning and earth sciences. Covers fundamentals of GIS, geodesy, projections, catastrophic principles, spatial data, modeling tools and spatial analysis. Participants engage in class projects that address real-world problems provided by the instructor or pertinent to their own research projects. Not to be taken if credit received for REN R 426 or REN R 712.
