This course will introduce students to the complexity of classroom assessment as a means of supporting and measuring student learning. The intent of this course is to develop an understanding of important concepts and issues in the evaluation of a learner's knowledge and skills, and to develop competence in constructing instruments and processes to evaluate learner performance. Emphasis is on understanding child and adolescent development from the combined perspectives of research, theory and practical experience. Stages through to emerging adulthood will be studied. Intended for both masters and doctoral level students. Practitioners or theoreticians from related disciplines are welcome.
Priority given to graduate students in the Department of Educational Psychology.
